Samsung Galaxy S Duos dual SIM smartphone announced

The newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy S Duos packs in decent specs with the added advantage of dual SIM. This ICS smartphone is the latest to enter the company’s Galaxy lineup.

The handset’s dual SIM attribute is always on which means calls can be transferred from one card to the other with ease. The billing plans can be different for each SIM, adding to the flexibility. Coming to its hardware specifications, the device wears a 4-inch WVGA TFT screen proffering visuals in a resolution of 480 x 800p. It runs the Ice Cream Sandwich platform, with no mention of Jelly Bean as of now.

“Samsung Electronics introduced the Samsung Galaxy S Duos, the latest addition to the Galaxy smartphone family designed for active young professionals. The Galaxy S Duos will be available from September starting in Europe and rolled out across other territories,” states a post on the official Samsung blog.

In terms of photography, a 5MP snapper with LED flash is affixed to the back panel along with a VGA sensor on the front. The manufacturer has thrown in Wi-Fi b/g/n, microUSB, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth v3.0 options for connectivity purposes.

The phone features 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded via a slot for a 32GB microSD card. Built within dimensions measuring 63.1 x 121.5 x 10.5mm, it tips the scales at merely 120g. Needless to say, Google utilities and Samsung services like ChatOn are ready at hand.

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos price and release date information is not known at present. It is expected to be launched sometime in September in Europe and other regions.
