Search engine giant Google has added two new features to the Google Maps in India which are: live traffic updates and voice navigation. At the moment the traffic information through Google Maps is only available in Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune.
The voice navigation will allow the users turn-by-turn voice-guided driving directions via Google Maps Navigation (Beta). Actually Google maps navigation is an internet connected GPS system that allows the users to find any specific place by using the name or address via typing or speaking.
The live traffic update feature can be accessed from the PC and mobile devices including Android and iOS, whereas the voice navigation feature can be accessed anywhere in India on the Android. The voice navigation also allows the users to change the language to the Indian English locale from the phone settings in order to speak in the Indian accent.
In order to activate Google maps navigation, users have to go to Google maps and click on the Map and then click on the Navigation. At last click on Accept to Activate and you are all done.
At the moment there are several other companies who are offering voice navigation facilities using their own devices, so Google Maps (new features) might affect them because after all it is absolutely free.
