Asus MeMo Pad FHD 10 to ship with Intel, Qualcomm chips in Wi-Fi and LTE versions

Asus continues to release a range of tablets with a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. The configuration of the MeMo Pad FHD 10 is only slightly different from the bunch, as it's the bigger counterpart to the MeMo Pad HD 7.

The 10-inch Android 4.2 tablet features a full HD 1,920x1,200-pixel resolution IPS display, wide 178-degree viewing angles, and stereo speakers. It houses Intel's Atom Z2560 1.6GHz processor, 2GB RAM, and will come in 16GB and 32GB versions, with memory expansion via a microSD card slot.

Design-wise, the MeMo Pad FHD 10 follows the slim tablet trend, at .37-inch thick. The back panel has a "micro-weave finish" and is available in blue, white, or pink. A 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera are also included.

An LTE version, appropriately -- and exhaustively -- named the Asus MeMo Pad FHD 10 LTE, is due in the third quarter. The LTE model will don a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, instead of the Intel x86 chip that the Wi-Fi version houses. Seeing as details on it are sparse, I'm expecting the tablet to mirror the specs of the Wi-Fi-only version. The inclusion of the quad-core processor is promising for an otherwise standard 10-inch tablet with average midrange specs.

The Asus MeMo Pad FHD 10 appears to be an upgraded version of the budget-friendly Asus MeMo Pad Smart 10. The MeMo Pad FHD 10 addresses weak points in the MeMo Pad Smart 10's performance and design, with higher resolution and a redesigned back. Despite its shortcomings, the MeMo Pad Smart 10 is still a bargain buy.

The variety of 10-inch tablets is flourishing with relatively affordable and high-performing models available. Asus has priced the smaller MeMo Pad HD 7 to sell, with a starting cost of $129 for the 8GB version, but the rate for the MeMo Pad FHD 10 has yet to be announced. Depending on the price tag, it could be an affordable option or another unfortunately forgettable 10-inch tablet.

ASUS Fonepad Price In India Is INR 15,999 - It's A Phone, A Tablet And A Phablet

So, picking up a call from an over-sized tablet-phone doesn't really seem likely to appeal to you, but having that voice-call making facility isn't really undesirable, is it? At first, people clicking photos with their iPads looked bizarre, but we have now more or less gotten used to it. In India, the trend has particularly starting to become a common sight. After ASUS's initial failed attempt at making the PadFone, a phone that could transform into a tablet work, it has now got their Tablet to work like a phone. Yep, ASUS Fonepad is now in India in its full glory to let you make phone calls with a 7-inch, 1,280x800 pixel resolution LED backlit IPS screen in your hand at your ear. Weighing at 340 gram, the FonePad runs on the Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean OS and has 1 GB RAM and 8GB Memory expandable via microSD up to 32 GB.

Powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor, the ASUS Fonepad is featuring a Rear Camera of 3 megapixel with autofocus and without a flash and Front Camera of 1.2 megapixel. With a headphone jack and microUSB port at the bottom and the power button and the volume changer on one side of the Fonepad, ASUS has given a flap above the camera to insert the microSIM and microSD card. A 4,270 mAh Li-Polymer non-removable battery is covered by the matt finished back cover and we think that with the sizeable bezel, ASUS Fonepad will be just ergonomic and comfortably when held by both hands and it doesn't look ugly at all. 


The users with connectivity concerns should know that the Fonepad work on 3G as well as WiFi and this tablet-phone works just fine with either of them turned ON. Sadly, there's no NFC and no 5 GHz band, if that's what you're looking for. There is of course the support for Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 2.0. The Fonepad is said to work great with the Jelly Bean and there are toggle switches in the notification bar which can be moved around, a power saving mode and a selection of floating apps for multi-tasking purpose.

About a month back, we told you about the ASUS Fonepad's launch in India. And as predicted, the price in India of this new gadget is Rs. 15,999/- and its price in the US market is approx. US$360. Asus unveils both Android, Windows 8-based Transformer Book

Asus unveiled the Transformer Book that runs on both Android and Windows 8 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Transformer Book is an all-in-one tablet-cum-PC that that combines the functionality of a tablet and a notebook.

It features a 13.3-inch full-HD multi-touch IPS display, powered by 3rd generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and offers 128GB SSD storage.

Asus also unveiled the VivoTab Smart—a Windows 8 tablet— with a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 366x768 pixel resolution at the electronic show.

The company has not yet made official the pricing and availability of both the devices.

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity Review

The USP of this tablet is the dock, which provides another USB port and battery. But the Transformer Pad Infinity also has a great screen for films and games in the shape of its Full HD display, plus plenty of onboard storage – 64GB.

Just like the Transformer Prime, the Pad Infinity has a stylish spiral brushed metal style. It’s slim and light enough to hold in one hand, yet still manages to feel solid.


A full battery will power six hours of streaming media, while in moderate use it will last all day. The keyboard dock features a second battery.


Under the hood lurks a quad-core 1.6GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, which means this is one of the most powerful devices out there – great for gamers.

The screen is large and responsive and lets the user zip around the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and the web, with ease. Typists will love the dockable keyboard, although the small size does take a while to get to grips with. If you prod the display it can tip the device over.


Despite the fact that the Transformer Pad Infinity looks virtually identical to its predecessor, it proves itself a worthy upgrade because of the sharp Full HD display. Plus that more powerful quad-core chip is a boon to media fans and gamers, while those who want to use the device for work will find it’s all the easier with the keyboard dock.
