Quad-core iBall Andi 5T Cobalt 2 with 12MP camera launched for Rs 11,999

iBall has launched its latest smartphone dubbed Andi 5T Cobalt 2. The 5-inch quad-core smartphone comes at an MRP of Rs 12,499, but the company is selling the device at a best buy price of Rs 11,999.

It sports a 5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution, and an OGS (one glass solution) touch panel. Under the hood, the Cobalt 2 comes powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM. On the camera front, it gets a 12-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera to take selfies.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, along with UI customisations from iBall. Moreover, the smartphone is ready to be upgraded to Android KitKat, says the company. The internal storage is unclear, but the device will come with microSD card support.

iBall Andi 4.5 Ripple 2G and 3G launched, prices start from Rs 5,499

iBall has announced the launch of two entry-level smartphone for its Andi series — Andi 4.5 Ripple 2G and Andi 4.5 Ripple 3G.

The difference in the two phones lies in the latter's ability to run on a 3G connection.

In the price bracket, the Andi 4.5 Ripple 2G will sell at Rs 5,499 and the Andi 4.5 Ripple 3G at Rs 6,399.

Under the hood, both phones are powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core A7 Cortex chipset with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixel) display. In the OS department, the phones will be seen running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will be backed up by 512MB RAM.

They will also have 4GB of built-in storage, 2GB user-available, and can be expanded up to 32GB.

The camera on the phones is a 5MP rear with LED flash with a front-facing camera as well.


On the connectivity front, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS will be present. The battery on the phones is kept at 1,500 mAh.

Kareena to launch iBall's Android ICS phones

iBall has plans to launch at least a few first time in India products over the next few months in its Andi smartphone series.

India based iBall will shortly be launching a series of smartphones in different screen sizes running Android. Most of them will run on the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android and will be loaded with powerful processors to give users an extremely enjoyable experience. The Indian mobile phone manufacturer said this while announcing Kareena Kapoor as its brand ambassador.

"High camera quality, 3G, built in GPS will be included in these phones. They will also be bundled with impressive applications for social networking, communication and entertainment, apart from the freedom to use over 2.5 lakh applications available on the Android market, many of which are free. iBall has plans to launch at least a few first time in India products in its Andi smartphone series in the next few months," the company said in a press release.

Kareena is not the first A-lister to come on board brand iBall; the company has had a fruitful tie-up with charming mega star Hrithik Roshan for iBall Slide, its range of tablet PCs.
