Bharti Airtel Launches Mobile Services in Kargil

Airtel launched mobile services for its customers in Kargil district in Jammu & Kashmir. Kargil known for it's rough weather conditions, isolates itself from the rest of the country. Airtel mobile service might offer natives and tourist, a chance to connect with friends and relatives outside of Kargil.

BSNL was the first service provider to offer mobile services in the Kargil region. The service was not well received due to poor network and connectivity. Will Airtel manage to provide a much smoother voice and data connectivity, is yet to be seen. Airtel recently launched its 3G services in Jammu and Kashmir starting with it's capital, Srinagar and is expected to reach kargil soon enough.

Bharti Airtel's Director for Network Services Group Jagbir Singh said "At Airtel, it is our constant endeavor to provide superior user experience to our customers by seamlessly connecting them wherever they go"

"With this launch, Airtel has now become the only private operator to have network footprints in all the districts of J&K" added , Jagbir Singh.

Airtel apparently has set-up VSAT links and specially designed telecom infrastructure which can be adjusted, according to weather pattern changes in the region, to provide seamless connectivity.
