Jaguar F-Type Coupe unveiled


Jaguar, the ultra-luxury carmaker has showcased the all-new F-Type coupe at the currently happening Indian Auto Expo'14. The beast is certainly dynamically capable and performance oriented sports car that the company has ever developed. The sports car is available in three versions- F-Type R, F-Type S and F-Type, just like its Convertible sibling. But the all-new coupe is priced little higher than the Convertible counterpart.


At its heart, the performance-based F-Type R coupe gets a Jaguar's 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that is made to deliver massive 542.8bhp of max power. The sports car races from 0-100kmph in just 4 seconds, and attains a top speed of 290kmph (electronically limited). The other versions- F-type S Coupe and F-Type Coupe sports a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged petrol engines developing 374.8bhp and 335.8bhp of max power. The S Coupe takes 4.8 seconds to cross 0-100kmph and achieves top speed of 275kmph, while the base variant in the series sprints to 100kmph from rest in 5.1 seconds and has got a top speed of 260kmph. The engine comes combined with eight-speed close-ration quickshift transmission which is mechanized to deliver top-notch performance, alongwith full manual sequential control from cental sportshift or steering wheel mounted paddles.


The styling details are taken from the amazingly designed Jaguar C-X16 concept sports coupe, which is also unveiled at the current Expo. The whole of the structure is made with a single-piece aluminium pressing, which brings out a clean and attractively designed model eliminating joints from the body. The roof gets both options of aluminium or panoramic glass, while the rear spoiler sits at the tapered shut-line, slim, LED lamps are beautifully merged into the overall tailgate structure.


Apart from this, all-new F-Type R Coupe features innovative technologies comprising of second generation electronic active differential and torque vectoring for braking.
