TVS Motor Company has launched its 2012 Apache RTR range. The RTR series now boasts of a new headlight design with LED pilot lamps. The tank shrouds have also been redesigned and TVS claims that this results in an aerodynamic package which reduces engine heat. The digital meter console gets a carbon-fibre insert and a new blue backlit display.

While visually the bike may look a tad different than the outgoing version, the underpinnings remain the same.

The new Apache RTR 160 series comes in four dual tone colours - green, red, grey and yellow with black being the base. The RTR 180 is available in four colours as well - yellow, white, black and grey. The ABS variant of the RTR 180 is available only in white and black.

All these bikes are on sale now at TVS dealerships across the country. The ex-showroom Delhi prices for the RTR 160 is Rs 67,505, RTR 180 is Rs 72,090 and RTR ABS is Rs 82,780.

Apache as a brand has been very well received. The new breed of TVS Apache RTRs will shoulder a hallmark, one-of-its kind pilot lamps, inspired by the 'eye of fury' - which consists of LED light guide technology combined with new pilot lamps to form a pair of intense animalistic eyes that is activated on ignition, night or day.
