KOLKATA: Computer processor manufacturer Intel is planning to look ahead rather than being only chip manufacturer. It is aiming to evolve as a computing solution company, its director, sales and marketing, Rajiv Bhalla said here on Wednesday. "We are looking at seamless integration of devices, consistency and interoperability of devices by the customers," he said. He was speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of an event to showcase its All-in-One (AIO).
AIO has been launched to accelerate the desktop PC growth. He said by 2015, 33% of overall desktop market will be AIOs. In AIOs, the monitor and the central processing unit (CPU) are built-in together. Apart from this, AIOs have wi-fi, camera and blue-tooth embedded in it.
"Last year we had sold around 260,000 AIOs in India. This market is growing exponentially," Bhalla said. He mentioned that there is demand for desktop in the banking sector and the small and medium business sector. Hence AIOs and laptops will co-exist in the future.
