Jaipur: Close on the heels of Baghpat panchayat's diktat in Uttar Pradesh, a village panchayat in Rajasthan has banned the use of mobiles for minor girls and has directed them to cover their heads when stepping out of home.
According to reports, the restrictions were imposed by a panchayat of Kishorpura Village near Udaipurwati town of Jhunjhunu district, saying that mobile phones were spoiling girls.
The village panchayat has even reportedly ordered the minor boys not to play music on their mobile phones.
The panchayat members also instructed girls to dress decently keeping their heads covered with stole.
Notably, majority of the villagers were, in agreement with the panchayat order.
In July, a panchayat of Asara village in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district had issued similar orders, banning girls from using mobile phones and stepping out of their houses without male escort.
