Lava to launch Xolo X500, second Intel-powered smartphone for Rs. 8,999


Lava is all set to launch its second Intel-powered smartphone in India. Dubbed as the Lava Xolo X500, this smartphone will come with the Atom Lexington Z2420 chip. This is the same chipset that Intel had showcased at the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show.


We have learnt from our sources that the Lava Xolo X500 is a dual-SIM smartphone, which runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It sports a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480X320. The processor clocks a speed of 1.2GHz and comes with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. The device packs in 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It has a 1,500mAh battery.


The Xolo X500 comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera that can click seven images in the burst mode at 6 fps (frames per second). Lava has already shipped the first lot of the assignment and it's executed to arrive in the markets shortly for a best buy price of Rs. 8,999.


The Lava Xolo X900 (Pics | Review) was the first Intel-powered smartphone launched in April 2012. It comes with an Intel Z2460 single-core chip that clocks in at 1.6Ghz. It has a 4.03-inch screen with 1024x600p display and offers 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Lava Xolo X900 was launched with Android 2.3 on-board, but later got an update to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). This smartphone is currently available for Rs. 17,500.
