ADCOM Thunder A-530 HD and other smartphones come to India


ADCOM has made its debut in the smartphone category with its Thunder A-530 HD in India and 5 other devices, all of which carry reasonable price tags. Apart from the aforementioned phablet, the range includes A-500, A-450, A-430, A-400 and A-350 which set users back by not more than Rs. 9000.


The Adcom Thunder A-530 HD is graced by a 5.3-inch capacitive IPS LCD touchscreen capable of rendering visuals in 540 X 960p resolution. Measuring 149.6 x 78 x 9.5 millimeters, it has been accessorized with dual cameras. A 2MP webcam sits on the front for facilitating video conferencing on the move, whereas an 8MP rear-facing snapper has been thrown in for the purpose of capturing good-quality pictures. Features like flash, digital zoom, panorama mode and video recording capability amongst others can also be found in the primary shooter.


Based on the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 OS, this phablet gains steam from a 1.2GHz dual core processor and has 512MB of RAM. It is embedded with dual SIM card slots and arrives with 4GB of onboard storage. A microSD expansion slot has been carved into the chassis for allowing users to increase the storage by up to 32GB. The 3G-enabled device not only has built-in Wi-Fi for internet access, but also acts as a mobile hotspot to share its connectivity with compatible mobile gadgets.


The two lower end devices, 350 and 400, make the most of the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. They acquire multitasking properties from a 1GHz dual core processor and are fitted with a 3.5-inch and a 4-inch touchscreen, respectively. These devices are also fitted with a 3.2MP camera on the back and a 0.3MP webcam on the front panel.


The 430, 450 and 500 variants employ a 4.3-inch, a 4.5-inch and a 5-inch multi-touch display, correspondingly and binge on the Jelly Bean platform. They are driven by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and are armed with an 8MP camera as well. These three devices boast of a front-mounted webcam too.


The ADCOM Thunder A-530 HD is now available for a price of Rs. 8,999 through major online retailers such as Flipkart, Snapdeal, Infibeam, Homeshop18 and more. The A350, A-400, A-430, A450 and A-500 are attached with price tags of Rs. 3,199, Rs. 3,999, Rs. 6,499, Rs. 7,499 and Rs. 7,999, respectively.
