Kobian has launched the Mercury mTab 7G in India, marking the arrival of yet another 7-inch tablet with a budget-friendly price. Having being pegged at Rs. 7,799, the device has hit pre-order status through the company’s official website, while its tentative release date has been estimated to be May 25.
As seen in most tablets these days such as the Celkon CT 888, the Videocon VT-75C and more, the Kobian Mercury mTab 7G offers the voice calling functionality. It houses a 7-inch capacitive touch screen which is probably what the digit ‘7’ in its moniker stands for. This screen estate is proficient enough to reproduce pictures and videos at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
For a device with a budget price, its 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor can be counted as a fair deal. On the other hand, the gadget manages to give us a taste of Android Ice Cream Sandwich which makes it comparatively less desirable against other Jelly Bean-equipped tablets that are presently available at a low retail value.
Its internal memory sums up to 4GB. But in case users find themselves on the lookout for additional storage space, they could always insert a microSD card of up to 32GB into the integrated expansion port.
