Intex Cloud Y12 dual-SIM 3G Android smartphone launched at Rs 5,390

After launching the Cloud X12 earlier this month, Intex now adds the Y12 smartphone to its Cloud series. The Cloud Y12 is a dual-SIM budget phone priced at Rs 5,390. It is available through retail stores as well as Intex stores.

Joining the brigade of entry-level phones available in the Indian market, the Cloud Y12 features a tiny 3-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels of resolution. The display size is slightly smaller than the X12, but has much higher resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core MediaTek processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

It packs in 1.7GB onboard storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB via micro SD card slot. It gets a lowly 2MP rear snapper and a VGA front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, it supports both 3G and Wi-Fi. The device also gets GPS with A-GPS support. Overall, the specs of the Y12 appear to be better than the X12 that is priced at Rs 4,290.

All of this fuelled by a 2000 mAh battery that promises up to 5 hours to talk time and 180 hours of standby time. Some more are FM radio, auto call record and several preloaded games. The games list includes Angry Gorilla, Chennai Express, Thunder Fighter HD and Zombie Quest.

The Y12 is available in blue, white, red and black colors. Its in-box contents include a data cable, a travel charger, a pair of earphones and a screen guard.
