BJP does its bit to ensure women’s safety in India, launches Raksha Android app

BJP is trying to attract women voters of India by launching the Raksha Android application which promises to keep them safe at all times. The political party wishes to use everyday technology for the security of the ladies and hence, it came up with the idea of this app.

The Raksha app has been designed in such a way that it can reveal your location via a map to your selected contacts. A press of a button is all that is needed to notify people about your exact position. Also, a girl can even ask her friends or family members for their location using the utility.

Like most other similar applications, it too has an SOS button which when pressed, sends out a buzz to the phones of your near and dear ones. Meenakshi Lekhi, the national spokesperson of BJP assures women as well as their loved ones to not worry about their safety as long as the application is present in their phones.

Also, in case the app is closed and you need to notify someone immediately, just press the volume button for three seconds and it will do the needful of informing your contacts about your problem. As soon as you install the application, create a group of trusted contacts who you’d want to alert when such a situation arises.

The Raksha application is available for Android-based devices via Google Play.
